This is our earliest blooming lotus. And a strange one. Sometimes it blooms bright pink. Sometimes you would swear it's purple. Then you get a light mauve flower and you learn not to ask questions. Whatever color you get, Silver Makeup always stuns with its geometry. The early flower is tightly bound almost like it's wrapped in a bandage. At full bloom, the outer petals are short and round with long, tubular petaloids shooting out from the receptacle, giving Silver Makeup a pinwheel effect. It's often like looking into a kaleidoscope.
Silver Makeup is a Medium lotus.
Plant in a container that is at least 15" W x 8" H. The wider you go, the more room it will have to spread.
